Healthy smiles start with knowing how.

A student organization at UCLA bringing free, interactive oral health education to children and older adults across Los Angeles.

Supporting the people who need it most

Dental disease is one of the most common chronic conditions in the country, and one of the most preventable. The gap usually isn't willingness. It's access to clear information, delivered by someone who takes the time.

We're students who believe that teaching a seven-year-old to brush properly, or helping an 82-year-old understand what they're entitled to ask their dentist, is real preventive care. We go to schools, senior centers, and community organizations, and we make the lesson something people actually enjoy sitting through.

How we teach:

Fun, not a lecture

Our lessons are hands-on and age-appropriate: models, demonstrations, games, and props that make oral hygiene stick better than a worksheet ever could.

Every age, not just kids

Older adults face their own oral health challenges — dry mouth from medications, denture care, gum disease — and get far less attention. We build sessions for them too.

Knowing your rights

Good habits matter, but so does knowing what to expect from a dental visit and what questions you're allowed to ask. We teach that alongside the brushing.

Why do we do this?

Because the cheapest part of health care is the part that gets skipped. A cavity at seven can become a root canal at twenty-seven. The difference usually isn't luck or genetics. It's whether anyone ever sat down with that child and showed them what to do, and whether the adults around them had the same information.

We can't give anyone dental insurance or a ride to an appointment. What we can close is the part of the gap made of information: the habits that prevent disease in the first place, and knowing what you're allowed to ask once you're in the chair.

Prevention is the cheapest, most effective tool we have, and education is where prevention begins.
